Overview

In 2025, the Viehscheid Obermaiselstein once again attracted thousands of visitors. Starting in the early morning, herds from the eleven alpine pastures arrived in the valley, led by decorated lead cows to the decentralized sorting points. In the festival tent at the Haus des Gastes, Allgäu music bands provided musical accompaniment, complemented by the farmers' market in front of the fire station.

In 2025, the Viehscheid Obermaiselstein proceeded in its established format: Over 1,300 animals returned from the eleven Hörnerdörfer alpine pastures, accompanied by herdsmen in traditional dress into the valley. The decentralized sorting points distributed the crowds throughout the village and allowed tradition to take center stage over spectacle.

In the festival tent, local music bands played, and in front of the fire station, associations sold mountain cheese, sausages, and drinks until early evening. A classic Allgäu Viehscheid day, which concluded with live music in the festival tent late into the evening.
