Overview

The Immenstadt Viehscheid 2025 took place in mid-September — around 800 animals paraded from the surrounding alpine pastures through the town center to the Scheidplatz at Viehmarktplatz. The evening before, the warm-up party in the festival tent attracted crowds, and on the main event day, Allgäu music, cheese, and snacks characterized the festive day.

Viehscheid 2025 — Review

In 2025, the traditional Immenstadt Viehscheid once again took place in mid-September, confirming its status as one of the largest cattle drives in the Allgäu. The decorated leader cows led the herds from the alpine pastures around Immenstadt through the Steigbachtal and the town center to the Viehmarktplatz.

The festival tent at Scheidplatz buzzed with lively atmosphere throughout the day, featuring Allgäu music, Käsknöpfle, sausages, and festival beer. The distribution of animals to their owners from the late morning onwards is a highlight for locals and tradition enthusiasts alike — followed by the ringing of bells and an evening full of folk music and dancing.
