Overview

In 2025, the Viehscheid Bad Hindelang also took place on September 11, starting at 8:30 AM. Around 1,000 animals returned from the alpine pastures to the Ostrachtal, and the 'Scheidplatz' was the scene of traditional animal handovers throughout the morning. The market and festival tent created a folk festival atmosphere in the village from midday onwards.

The Viehscheid day in 2025 proceeded as usual: Even before 8:30 AM, hundreds of visitors lined Marktstraße to welcome the first herds. The herdsmen from the five Hindelang alpine pastures brought their animals down on the hour – each herd was greeted with applause and cheers.

As every year, the market and festival tent began parallel to the Viehscheid. Local schools were closed so that all children could witness the spectacle. Music bands played in the festival tent until late into the night, and the market remained open until early evening.
