Edition 2025 — Vesakh Festival Berlin
The Vesakh Festival 2025 took place in May at the Fo Guang Shan Temple Berlin on Ackerstraße. As every year, the Chinese Mahayana community celebrated the birth, enlightenment, and Parinirvana of the historical Buddha with a Buddha bathing ceremony, vegetarian lunch, guided temple tours, meditation, and tea ceremony. Admission was free, and the festival was open to devotees and interested individuals.
Vesakh 2025 at the Fo Guang Shan Temple
As every spring, the Berlin Fo Guang Shan Temple invited guests in 2025 to the most important Buddhist festival. The program followed the established structure of the house: in the morning, the solemn Buddha bathing ceremony with a blessing for the youngest participants, followed by a vegetarian communal meal, temple tours, a guided meditation, and a tea ceremony with a calligraphy exercise. The Berlin Buddhist community and the Chinese diaspora from the entire region came together — complemented by Berliners discovering the temple for the first time.
