Advent market with sparkling lights and a giant advent calendar in the Solling town
Uslar, the Solling town on the western edge of the Solling hills, presents itself at its most beautiful during Advent. The Uslar Christmas Market transforms the city center with its historic half-timbered houses into a festive Advent landscape, where the scent of mulled wine and atmospheric music set the scene.
A special feature of the Uslar Christmas Market is the giant advent calendar, which is one of the market's landmarks. A new door is symbolically opened each market day – a ritual that is particularly attractive for families with children and gives the market a distinctive character.
At the market, visitors will find a carefully curated selection of crafts, Christmas decorations, gift ideas, and culinary specialties. Mulled wine, punch, cocoa, crêpes, bratwurst, potato pancakes, and sweet temptations like candied almonds and gingerbread form the basic gastronomic offering.
Musical performances take place throughout the market. Brass choirs, children's choirs, school choirs, and regional music groups contribute to the Christmas mood. St. Nicholas regularly visits – a highlight for the youngest market visitors.
The city center of Uslar, with its partly historic houses and narrow alleys, forms the ideal backdrop for a Christmas market with a feel-good character. Unlike in large cities, the atmosphere is manageable and intimate – ideal for relaxed Advent evenings with family and friends.
The 2026 edition of the Uslar Christmas Market falls in the second half of December, thus filling an important period of Advent anticipation. Families, couples, and groups of friends use the market days for relaxed evenings in a festive setting.
The manageable size of the market guarantees an intimate, warm atmosphere.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the autumn. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
