Überlingen Fasnacht 2025 — Review
In 2025, the Überlingen Fasnacht once again drew thousands of visitors to the lakeside old town — one of Southern Germany's oldest and most atmospheric carnivals. The guild Überlinger Löwen and the Hänselezunft Überlingen e.V., together with numerous friendly guilds from the Lake Constance and Hegau regions, organized the traditional festival days.
Highlights included the Town Hall Storm and Hemdglonker parade on Schmotziger Donnerstag, the evening parades on Saturday and Monday, and the Grand Parade on Fasnacht Sunday. The famous Hänsele-Juck was seen multiple times daily in the old town — a performative street dance with a whip, existing in this form only in Überlingen. A traditional Fasnacht that kept the intangible cultural heritage of the Swabian-Alemannic Fasnet alive.
