Overview

The fourth edition of Turm und Klang 2024 once again brought international carillonneurs to Esslingen's Rathausplatz. Seven open-air carillon concerts against the backdrop of the Old Town Hall, featuring the carillon with over 30 bronze bells (installed in 1927) as the main instrument, concluded by a special concert with spoken word and other instruments on Sunday evening.

In 2024, the City of Esslingen once again hosted the biennial International Carillon Festival Turm und Klang on the Rathausplatz. Seven live concerts were spread across Saturday and Sunday, played on the historic carillon in the tower of the Old Town Hall by international carillonneurs.

As usual, the festival concluded with the special concert on Sunday evening, which presented the rare combination of carillon, other instruments, and recited poetry. Thousands of visitors from Esslingen, the greater Stuttgart area, and the carillon fan community filled the square — with dry weather around the concert times, it was a perfect open-air experience.
