One of the largest garden and plant exhibitions in Southeast Bavaria – roses, plants, and arts and crafts in the Stadtpark
Since its premiere, the Traunstein Rose Days have developed into one of the most important garden and plant exhibitions in Southeast Bavaria. The organizer is the Große Kreisstadt Traunstein (Traunstein district, Chiemgau, Upper Bavaria) together with the event's support association. The venue is the historic Stadtpark Traunstein: a park-like area in the city center, which offers an ideal setting for the plant exhibition with its old trees, winding paths, and water features.
Over 140 exhibitors set up their stands in the Stadtpark: nurseries, tree nurseries, rose breeders, perennial and herb specialists, garden decorations, arts and crafts, garden furniture, as well as a wide culinary offering. The focus is clearly on plants – from classic bedding roses to historic shrub roses, complemented by perennials, shrubs, herbs, and seeds.
In the center of the exhibition area is a large stage, where changing musical and artistic performances take place on all three days. In the neighboring Kulturzentrum, there are regular special exhibitions with thematic focuses – in 2026 on the theme of 'Wedding'. In addition, there are lectures, workshops, and guided tours offered around the exhibition.
The Traunstein Rose Days are explicitly designed as a family event. Admission is free; the Stadtpark location makes the area easily accessible with strollers and dogs. On weekends, the Rose Days regularly attract several tens of thousands of visitors from Upper Bavaria, the Salzburg region, and the Inn-Salzach region.
Traunstein is a Große Kreisstadt in the Traunstein district and is considered the main town of the Chiemgau. The city is located between Chiemsee and Salzburg, about 100 km east of Munich. With the Rose Days, the traditional Georgiritt procession at Easter, and the salt mine memories, Traunstein is establishing itself as a cultural city with a clear regional connection.
The Traunstein Rose Days 2026 are scheduled as the 14th edition and will run from Friday, June 19th, to Sunday, June 21st, 2026. The venue is the central Stadtpark of the district town of Traunstein. More than 140 exhibitors are expected.
The program follows the proven concept: a dense stand landscape in the park, a stage program with musical and artistic contributions, and an accompanying special exhibition in the neighboring Kulturzentrum. The theme of the 2026 special exhibition: 'Wedding'.
