When the Tractors Return
Once a year, the Klockenhagen Open-Air Museum transforms into a small stage for historic agricultural technology. During Tractor Day, tractors, combine harvesters, and small agricultural machines roll across the grounds – including many models from the GDR era, such as Famulus, Aktivist, or ZT tractors, as well as pre-war models from Western manufacturers.
Demonstrations and Scenic Rides
The program includes demonstrations of old agricultural machinery, plowing, and harvesting techniques, scenic rides in open trailers, and – depending on the year – rides for children. Collectors and clubs from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Brandenburg present their restored machines and are available for discussions.
Location and Museum
The Klockenhagen Open-Air Museum preserves farmhouses, barns, and workshops from the rural region between the Bodden and the Baltic Sea. Tractor Day fits perfectly into the museum's mission: to make rural culture tangible. Klockenhagen is located in the Vorpommern-Rügen district and belongs to the amber town of Ribnitz-Damgarten.
Who Should Visit?
- Enthusiasts of historic agricultural machinery and vintage tractors
- Families with children interested in technology
- Visitors who want to experience rural history up close
