Tonnenabschlagen Ahrenshoop

The Tonnenabschlagen Ahrenshoop 2025 took place on the 3rd Sunday in July, July 20th. As every year, the Tonnenbund Ahrenshoop, Alt- und Niehagen e.V. was the organizer.

The festival day began with the Ummarsch through the villages, where the previous year's royal families were picked up with music. After a communal breakfast, the riders galloped under the high-hung wooden barrel from midday onwards, smashing it piece by piece. The titles Bodenkönig, Stäbenkönig, and Tonnenkönig were ceremoniously awarded in the evening; the festive ball concluded the day.
