Overview

In 2025, the Tölzer Leonhardifahrt on November 6th once again saw over 70 decorated four-in-hand carriages and several hundred horses process up to the Kalvarienberg. Bavaria's largest Leonhardifahrt reaffirmed its status as living Upper Bavarian folk piety.

The 2025 Tölzer Leonhardifahrt followed the centuries-old tradition: the gathering of over 70 festively decorated four-in-hand carriages and several hundred horses with traditional costume wearers in the early morning, the procession starting at 9 a.m. with the ringing of all Bad Tölz church bells, and the journey up to the Kalvarienberg. There, the Leonhardi Chapel was circled, and pilgrims and horses were blessed. As Intangible Cultural Heritage and an identity-forming festival for the entire Tölzer Land, the Leonhardifahrt attracted numerous participants and spectators again in 2025.
