The 19th season of the Thüringer Schlossfestspiele Sondershausen in 2025 presented its traditional mix of major repertoire works, musicals, and family productions in the Lustgarten and on the palace stage. With the Loh Orchestra Sondershausen under the artistic direction of Theater Nordhausen, the festival once again proved its status as Northern Thuringia's most important open-air summer stage.
Schlossfestspiele Sondershausen 2025 — Retrospective
The 19th season served as a prelude to the 2026 anniversary year: with a program line that clearly adhered to the triple approach – major repertoire opera, popular musical, family production. Thousands of spectators from Northern Thuringia, Lower Saxony, and Saxony-Anhalt filled the Lustgarten of the Residential Palace on warm summer evenings and enjoyed the unmistakable mix of open-air acoustics, historic backdrop, and the professional musical quality of the Loh Orchestra.
