Theater im Burghof Egloffstein — Edition 2025

As in previous years, the Fränkischer Theatersommer performed in around 70 venues in Franconia in 2025, between Coburg and Pegnitz — including several performances in the courtyard of Egloffstein Castle. The program featured classic comedies and literary spoken theater by the ensemble led by director Jan Burdinski. Egloffstein Castle has long been considered one of the most atmospheric performance venues of the tour: a stage in the inner courtyard, rows of benches for the audience between the 12th-century walls, swallows above the towers — open-air touring theater in its purest form.

Advance ticket prices ranged from €22 to €27 (advance sales) depending on the production, with free seating. Reduced tickets and children's tickets starting from €7 or €8 were available through the Egloffstein Tourist Information office and the central ticket hotline of the Theatersommer.
