Since 2025, the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden has established "The World of John Neumeier" as an annual dance festival dedicated to the choreographer's work. The 2025 precursor edition marked the start of this format with the Hamburg Ballet and international companies.
Launch of the Festival Format in 2025
In 2025, the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden established "The World of John Neumeier" as an annual festival format. With John Neumeier's departure from leading the Hamburg Ballet, the Festspielhaus aimed to provide an international tribute to the choreographer. The concept of a multi-day, curated exploration of Neumeier's work was well-received — the 2026 edition builds upon this and expands the program.
