Overview

The 2025 edition of the Tag des offenen Denkmals in Hamburg was held under the nationwide motto "Valuable: priceless or irreplaceable?". Over 100 Hamburg buildings from all districts opened their doors free of charge – from the Speicherstadt to industrial buildings in Wilhelmsburg, from Bergedorf's thatched-roof houses to Altona's shipyard buildings.

2025 Review

The 2025 motto "Valuable: priceless or irreplaceable?" set the thematic direction. Hamburg's buildings were examined in the programme for their value beyond mere monetary assessment. Guided tours, lectures, concerts in churches, and family programmes characterised the three festival days.

The Stiftung Denkmalpflege Hamburg and the monument protection authority again coordinated Hamburg's participation. With around 13,000 registered monuments, the Hanseatic city has one of the densest monument inventories in Germany – the Tag des offenen Denkmals is the annual public activation of this heritage.
