Overview
The 2nd edition of Tag der Steige in 2025 established the format on the steep slopes of the Ruhr and attracted several thousand hikers from Essen and the western Ruhr area. The five-part route concept proved successful — from family walks to day hikes covering the full trail.
Due to the strong response, the format will continue in 2026 with almost no changes — proven stamp stations, new accompanying formats like the observatory's participation in the outdoor area of the Walter Hohmann Observatory.
