Overview

The 2025 Summer Festival at the Franconian Open-Air Museum Bad Windsheim took place, as is traditional, on the third weekend in July. Harvest work in the fields, steam-powered traction engines, a craftsmen's parade, and demonstrations in all building groups brought the entire museum area to life for two days.

2025 Summer Festival — Harvest Time Returns

In summer temperatures, the Franconian Open-Air Museum Bad Windsheim once again celebrated its traditional Summer Festival in 2025. In the fields, historical harvesting was carried out with scythes, binders, and horse-drawn teams; the steam-powered traction engine made its rounds across the grounds, and the museum's craftsmen were at work in all building groups.

The craftsmen's parade at 1 p.m. attracted a large audience, as it does every year. In the workshops, clog makers, saddlers, wheelwrights, and weavers demonstrated their traditional techniques. Children could bake bread, roll hay bales, and craft small items themselves at hands-on stations — living history for the whole family.
