Overview

The seventh edition of SUBMERGE 2025 established the format as a fixture in the international Berlin dance scene. Four weeks of programming, three performance evenings, choreographer labs, and a forum on the future of contemporary dance. The mix of workshop and performance format once again impressed industry professionals and the community.

The 2025 edition solidified the concept of preceding choreographer labs as a core element. Berlin-based dance makers made intensive use of the offering – workshops were largely fully booked.

The international performances attracted a mixed audience of dance professionals, the off-scene, and local residents. Friedrichshagen benefited from the additional cultural program; several cafés and restaurants in the district cooperated with the festival by offering festival menus.

Performance tickets in 2025 ranged from €12 to €18.
