Overview

The 8th edition of 'Stürmt die Burg' took place in 2025 with the usual three-week format at the Wilhelmsburg in Ulm. Live music, theater, readings, art installations, and a family program filled the courtyards, vaults, and towers of the historic fortress. Thousands of visitors from Ulm, Neu-Ulm, the Alb-Donau district, and the Swabian Jura experienced the pop-up cultural space.

'Stürmt die Burg' has established itself as one of southern Germany's prominent summer festivals since its first edition in 2018. The combination of an extraordinary location (19th-century fortress), a broad cultural program (music, theater, readings, art), and its pop-up nature (only three weeks per year) makes the format unique.

The 8th edition in 2025 once again brought national and international artists to the Wilhelmsburg, complemented by the Open Tower program with its interactive installations and open studios. The rooftop bar was again a meeting point for regular visitors and new guests — evening sunsets over the Minster and the Danube plain have become a trademark.
