Edition 2025 — Sterkrade Funfair
The 196th edition of the Sterkrade Corpus Christi Funfair took place in June 2025, as every year around the Corpus Christi holiday in Sterkrade. Six days of Volksfest with over 380 showmen, several major attractions, and the traditional funfair mile through the district. The organizer was the City of Oberhausen with the participating showmen's associations.
196th Sterkrade Funfair
In June 2025, the Sterkrade Corpus Christi Funfair continued its unbroken tradition since 1829. Over 380 showmen occupied the 2.5 km long funfair mile through Sterkrade, several major attractions with numerous novelties attracted families, young people, and funfair enthusiasts from the entire Ruhr area and the neighboring Netherlands.
The opening with the keg tapping by the Lord Mayor marked, as always, the symbolic start to six days of festivities — Volksfest in its most traditional form, shaping the early summer of the western Ruhr area.
