Overview

The 22nd Steinau Fairy Tale Sunday on the first Sunday of August 2025 was once again dedicated to a Grimm fairy tale, transforming the old town of the Brothers Grimm City into a walkable fairy tale world with actors, music, and a craft market. Acting scenes, music groups, craft stalls, and storytellers were spread across the market square, the castle grounds, Reinhardskirche, and the winding alleys of the old town. Admission: Adults €7, children €1, small children free.

In 2025, the Fairy Tale Sunday once again attracted thousands of visitors to Steinau's old town. The format of acting scenes, music in the alleys, and craft demonstrations has proven successful for over two decades.

Actors in fairy tale costumes, music in the inner courtyards, a craft market around the market square, and a dense children's program at the Brothers Grimm House characterized the day. The respective theme was scenically interpreted at various stations in the alleys.

The proven format has shaped the festival for years and draws audiences from the region as well as from neighboring federal states to the town. The annual edition contributes to Hesse's festival calendar and is supported by local clubs, associations, and volunteers.

Programme

All-day town festival in the old town: Acting scenes fitting the respective fairy tale theme, music groups in courtyards and squares, craft market, children's program. Organizer: Magistrate of the Town of Steinau.
