Overview

2026 marks the first Kultursommer for the newly established Stadtbühne Vohenstrauß in the Friedrichsburg Castle Gardens. Previously, the ensemble was active under the umbrella of the Landestheater Oberpfalz; before the summer relaunch, productions like »Eine Weihnachtsgeschichte« (A Christmas Carol) with music by Franz Adam shaped the association's work. An independent open-air Kultursommer in the castle gardens in this format did not take place before 2026.

Before the 2026 Relaunch

Prior to the 2026 Kultursommer, Stadtbühne Vohenstrauß was active under the umbrella of the Landestheater Oberpfalz. After its closure, the association decided to return to its own roots in the Friedrichsburg Castle Gardens. The history includes, among other things, the production »Eine Weihnachtsgeschichte« with a composition by Franz Adam, who also contributes music to the family play »Rapunzel« in 2026.

First Independent Kultursommer

An independent open-air summer program in the Friedrichsburg Castle Gardens in this format is only available from 2026 onwards – the Kultursommer thus marks a true new beginning for the ensemble and the town of Vohenstrauß.
