30th International Jockgrim Pole Vault Meeting

The International Jockgrim Pole Vault Meeting celebrates its 30th edition in 2026 and is one of the most distinctive sporting events in the Southern Palatinate. It is organized by a support association in cooperation with the local athletics club, pursuing the unusual idea of presenting a technically highly demanding discipline in a decidedly popular format.

Concept

The format combines a top-class pole vault meeting with a classic sports festival. The pole vault facility is at the center, with a small fan mile around it offering catering, a stage, moderation, and a family program. Admission for spectators is free.

Field of Competitors

Over the years, the meeting has earned a reputation that regularly attracts world-class athletes. Typically, vaulters from several European national teams, current world and European champions, and promising young talents are represented.

Sports Festival Atmosphere

Unlike many high-performance meetings, Jockgrim places great emphasis on being close to the people. The athletes are available for autographs and photos after the competition, the moderation explains the technique of the jumps even for laypeople, and the family program engages children with small taster activities. A local caterer provides refreshments with bratwurst, fries, Palatinate wine, and beer.

30th Anniversary

The 30th edition in 2026 will be celebrated with particular grandeur. An anniversary program with stations for remembering and honoring former vaulters is planned; specific program details will be announced in the summer.
