The St. John's Raft Procession traditionally takes place only every three years in Wolfratshausen. 2025 was not a regular procession year; the custom was postponed multiple times in previous years due to weather and pandemic conditions, so the tradition will return in 2026 after a longer break.

The St. John's Raft Procession is usually held only every three years in Wolfratshausen. Consequently, no regular procession took place in 2025. In the past, the event had to be canceled multiple times – due to floods and the Corona pandemic, among other reasons – which is why the next procession will not take place until 2026 after a multi-year break. However, the town and its rafting businesses continue to nurture this custom as part of the recognized intangible cultural heritage of rafting on the Isar and Loisach rivers.
