Overview

The third edition of Sparks & Visions took place in January 2025 at the Theater Regensburg – the first after the nomination for the German Jazz Award 2024. For three days, Anastasia Wolkenstein once again presented a carefully curated mix of contemporary jazz with artists from several countries, from Scandinavian quartets to US soloists and European vocal artists.

The third edition of Sparks & Visions in 2025 solidified the festival's reputation as a fixture on the South German jazz scene. Following its nomination for the German Jazz Award 2024 in the "Festival of the Year" category, the Theater Regensburg experienced three days of an international audience and a programme reflecting the full spectrum of contemporary jazz.

As always, Anastasia Wolkenstein curated the festival herself. The focused theatre setting, the programming of saxophone quartets alongside solo piano concerts and vocal experiments, once again created a festival atmosphere that brought many visitors back from the previous year.
