Overview

The 28th edition of SPANNUNGEN in June 2025 continued the festival's tradition under changing artistic direction. 10 concerts in the Heimbach Art Nouveau power plant, top-class soloists, a well-thought-out thematic program — and as always, the festival was sold out long before it began.

SPANNUNGEN 2025 once again confirmed the festival's status as one of Europe's most important chamber music events. In the Heimbach Art Nouveau power plant, renowned soloists came together to prepare and perform chamber music for a week. The unique acoustics of the machine hall, combined with the visual impact of the industrial architecture, made each concert an unrepeatable experience. The announcement of Christian Tetzlaff as director for 2026 was made public at the end of the season.
