Edition 2025 — Sommerfest Rethwisch
In 2025, the municipality of Rethwisch again invited to the traditional Sommerfest on the Pfarrwiese. Three days of community festival with a parade, children's bird shooting, a theatre performance in the community hall, and a club buffet. Free admission. As in previous years, it was a club-driven summer weekend for the Stormarn commuter community.
The 2025 edition of the Rethwisch Sommerfest followed the established format: three days on the Pfarrwiese, with a parade on Saturday, children's bird shooting on Sunday, and a theatre performance in the community hall. The organizers were the municipality of Rethwisch and the local clubs around VfL Rethwisch.
The Sommerfest is considered the social centre of the village year in a community that, since the closure of its three train stations on the Kaiserlinie in 1962, has relied more than others on its own club life. Christuskirche, VfL, and 'Lebendiges Dorfleben' (Living Village Life) — they all contribute to the festival together.
