Overview

As every year, the GTEV Auerbergler Altenmarkt celebrated its Sommerfest at Kloster Baumburg on the first Saturday of July 2025. Against the backdrop of the Baroque collegiate church, the men's groups competed in the Vereinspreisplatteln, and couples in the Dirndldrahn competition. Folk music, Brotzeit, and the monastery's own beer from Klosterbrauerei Baumburg made the afternoon and evening a convivial highlight in the Chiemgau folk costume calendar.

The 2025 Sommerfest followed the established format: opening in the late afternoon, Schuhplattler competition for the men's groups, Dirndldrahn competition, folk music, and a communal Brotzeit on the gravel area at Kloster Baumburg. The GTEV Auerbergler traditionally uses its Sommerfest as a training platform for its youth groups and as a meeting point for guest associations from the Chiemgau-Alpenverband.

As always, the beer was supplied directly by the Baumburg monastery brewery, whose brewery building is located just a few meters from the collegiate church. Admission was free, as every year. The combination of tradition, atmosphere, and authenticity makes the festival one of the most beautiful smaller folk costume festivals in the Traunstein district.
