Sommerfest der Freiwilligen Feuerwehr Heiligensee — Edition 2025

The 2025 edition followed the tried-and-tested format: an open day combined with a summer festival, organized by the support association of the FF Heiligensee. The ladder truck was, as every year, the crowd favorite — queues of children at the stand, adults often joining in too. Drills and demonstrations showcased the volunteer brigade's operations and aimed to attract new members.

Heiligensee is one of Berlin's smallest outlying districts, maintaining its own volunteer fire brigade. The station is located in the middle of the village, on the historic main street — a matter of course that is becoming increasingly unusual with Berlin's growing urban development. The summer festival is a reminder of the self-organization of the outlying districts.
