Edition 2025 — Sömmerda Duck Race
The 21st Sömmerda Duck Race 2025 brought thousands of families to the canoe canal in Sömmerda. Colorful rubber ducks raced to the finish line, while food stalls and music marked the summer afternoon. The City of Sömmerda once again organized an accessible folk festival, attracting families from the district and surrounding areas with free admission.

The 2025 edition confirmed the event's character: a family festival with a charity component, where local clubs and businesses acted as sponsors. The sale of racing ducks took place in Sömmerda beforehand, and the race at the canoe canal attracted hundreds of spectators to the banks. The first ducks to reach the finish line brought sponsor prizes from local businesses to their buyers.
