Sommer Sonne Alaaf first brought Rhenish carnival music outdoors to Paderborn in 2025. The festival in the Schloß- und Auenpark combined cover hits, carnival classics, and summer atmosphere — with such positive feedback that the subsequent edition in 2026 was immediately confirmed.
Sommer Sonne Alaaf 2025 established itself in Paderborn as a summer response to the rainy February carnival. The Schloß- und Auenpark provided the ideal setting for an open-air carnival festival; the audience reacted enthusiastically to the live sets of the Rhenish acts. RheinEvents GmbH drew a positive conclusion and announced the 2026 edition with an expanded line-up immediately after the event. Sommer Sonne Alaaf has since become an integral part of the Paderborn Schlosssommer program.
