The "Summer on the Altmarkt" 2025 ran from the end of June to the end of August every Thursday on the Schmalkalden Altmarkt. As in previous years, country, oldies, rock, Schlager, and DJ nights alternated. Every Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM — free admission.

Summer on the Altmarkt 2025 — Review

The 2025 series continued the established tradition: nine to ten Thursday evenings, a different style each week, with restaurateurs on the Altmarkt extending their opening hours. The mix of live music, the medieval old town backdrop, and Schmalkalden's citizens on the open-air terrace is what makes the series so appealing – and establishes it as the town's central weekly meeting point summer after summer.
