Overview

Already in 2025, the Dutch Quarter transformed into a Dutch Christmas village on the second Advent weekend. Sinterklaas arrived on his white steed, around 100 stalls lined Mittelstraße, and families from Berlin and Brandenburg came to Potsdam for an unusual Advent experience.

The 2025 Edition

In 2025, the Sinterklaas Festival followed its long-standing format: the arrival of Sinterklaas on Saturday, Dutch specialties at around 100 stalls, and a stage program between Mittelstraße and the Jan Bouman Haus. The mix of historical setting — the baroque brick quarter — and Dutch tradition makes the festival unique in Brandenburg.

More Than a Market

Unlike most Christmas markets, the Sinterklaas Festival is less a sales event and more a cultural commemoration: it celebrates the more than 280-year-old connection between Potsdam and the Netherlands.
