Overview

The Silbermann Days 2025 took place in September 2025 and once again brought thousands of organ enthusiasts from all over the world to Saxony. Over ten days, there were concerts on the Silbermann organs in Freiberg, Dresden, and the village churches of the region — accompanied by the International Gottfried Silbermann Organ Competition. Cathedral organist Albrecht Koch also directed the festival in this edition. The next edition follows in 2027.

Silbermann Days 2025

In September 2025, the last preceding edition of the Silbermann Days took place — ten days of organ festival in Freiberg, Dresden, and the wider Saxon region. Concerts in the Freiberg Cathedral of St. Mary, the Dresden Court Church and Frauenkirche, and in the village churches of Forchheim, Großhartmannsdorf, Reinhardtsgrimma, Frauenstein, and Glauchau brought together international soloists and young competition participants.

As every two years since 1978, the Gottfried Silbermann Society organized the festival. Artistic direction: Cathedral organist Albrecht Koch. The 2025 edition laid the groundwork for the 2027 edition with the XVIII International Gottfried Silbermann Organ Competition.
