Overview

The 20th Siegfriedspektakel — the anniversary edition — took place in 2025 at Xanten's Nordwall. Four days of medieval market with jousting tournaments, fire tournaments, the dragon Fangdorn, and several music stages attracted over 100,000 visitors, as in previous years. The city of Xanten and Vehi Mercatus hosted the spectacle with a special anniversary program.

20 Years of Siegfriedspektakel

The 20th edition's anniversary was celebrated in 2025 with an expanded program. As in previous years, jousting tournaments on horseback, the spectacular fire tournament, and the dragon Fangdorn were central program elements. Established medieval rock and folk bands performed on two music stages.

Over the four festival days, the spectacle drew more than 100,000 visitors to the Lower Rhine town. The combination of the Nibelungen myth (Siegfried is traditionally linked to Xanten) and the city's Roman heritage gives the event its unique profile — the saga meets the historic city wall of Colonia Ulpia Traiana.
