Overview

In 2025, the Kulturwerft Gollan in Lübeck was once again transformed into the SHMF summer living room for about two weeks. International world music acts performed in the industrial halls by the water, against a backdrop of deck chairs, sand, and vintage furniture. The Werftsommer had already established itself in previous seasons as one of the most distinctive SHMF venues and once again attracted an audience from all over Northern Germany in the 2025 season.

The 2025 Werftsommer fit into the grand SHMF program as a relaxed, cosmopolitan focus. In the shipyard halls on the Lübeck canal, different musical traditions met — from African and Eastern European folklore to jazz and crossover formats. The events were spread over several concert evenings, with the sand lounge remaining open in between with regional catering.

For several years, the Kulturwerft Gollan has been a central urban venue for the SHMF in Lübeck and further expanded its role as a link between classical festival tradition and a younger, cosmopolitan audience in the 2025 season.
