Overview
During the SHMF 2025 season, the W.D.R. Ferry near Wyk auf Föhr was also a concert venue — a premiere of a special kind, as the concept of the floating concert hall was met with great acclaim. The car deck of the Uthlande featured seating, carpet, stage, and lighting; the passenger ferry transported the audience to and from the mainland before and after the concert.
The 2025 season saw the SHMF utilize the North Frisian island of Föhr as one of its most unusual locations. Concerts on the W.D.R. Ferry sold out quickly — the blend of classical programming, maritime backdrop, and island atmosphere made the venue a hidden gem for SHMF regulars. Föhr was thus once again part of the venue network between Lübeck, Husum, Sylt, and Schleswig.
