SEITENSPRÜNGE Openair 2025 took place in the summer at the Music Pavilion Planten un Blomen. The Heymann bookstore presented a literary open-air evening with book recommendations, an author reading, and an acting reading – an unusual format between a reading festival and a summer picnic.

The 2025 edition established the concept: booksellers become hosts, debut authors meet the Hamburg summer audience, and an actress reads from current works. The Music Pavilion, with its open wooden stage and the meadow in front, provided the fitting setting.

With this format, KURT HEYMANN Buchzentrum GmbH proved that reading evenings don't have to take place in closed bookstore spaces. The open-air character attracted an audience not often found at classic reading events.
