Great Mosbach Soapbox Derby 1200 Years

The 2025 Soapbox Derby served as a dress rehearsal for the major anniversary edition in 2026. The proven course concept — starting at Schmelzgärten near the Mosbach tax office, racing through Zwingerstraße in the middle of the medieval townscape, and finishing at Alte Bergsteige with its natural uphill braking zone — worked excellently again. The participating teams competed in two age groups and three performance classes. Special prizes for creativity, originality, and team spirit were awarded in addition to the time classification. The bratwurst stands and live music along the course created the folk festival atmosphere that makes the race a family event. The response was so positive that the city made the race a highlight of the 1200-year anniversary in 2026.
