About Seehoftrail 2026
The Seehoftrail Erlenbach bei Dahn is a new trail running event in the Dahn Felsenland, organized by FC Erlenbach. The venue is the Seehofweiher – a picturesque pond in the mixed forest above Erlenbach, which has been a popular local recreation spot for decades and offers suitable infrastructure for start and finish with its kiosk.
Four Routes
The competition offers four route options for different target groups:
- Seehoftrail (10.4 km / 350 meters elevation gain): Main run for ambitious trail runners, also a scoring run in the WasgauCup 2026.
- Wasgau5000 (5.9 km): Medium-distance route for beginners and recreational athletes.
- Youth Run (2 km): Shorter route for young runners.
- Mini Run (400 m): Sprint for the little ones.
This tiered selection of routes makes the Seehoftrail a family event, accommodating both competitive participants and hobby athletes.
The Race Course
The main route leads through the scenically impressive Dahn Felsenland with its distinctive red sandstone rocks, mixed forests, and viewpoints. The 350 meters of elevation gain demand stamina and strength on the steep ascents; surefootedness is required on the descents. The course is well-marked and supervised by volunteer marshals.
The WasgauCup
The WasgauCup is a series of regional trail running competitions in the Dahn Felsenland and the neighboring Wasgau region on the French side. Participants collect points throughout the season and compete for the overall ranking at the end of the series. The Seehoftrail is integrated as a scoring event, making it a mandatory date in the season for many runners.

The 2026 edition continues the concept of the Seehoftrail: an attractive trail running Sunday in the Dahn Felsenland with tiered routes for all target groups. - Morning: Distribution of race bibs at the Seehofweiher kiosk.
- Midday/Early Afternoon: Start of the mini run (400 m), followed by the youth run (2 km).
- Early Afternoon: Main races Seehoftrail (10.4 km / 350 hm) and Wasgau5000 (5.9 km) – usually a common mass start.
- Afternoon: Finish line, award ceremonies, refreshments, and winding down at the kiosk.
