Overview

The 222nd edition of the Schwarzenbach Wiesenfest in 2025 celebrated four days of festivities on the sports field. As always, the parade, the festival tent with live music, and the traditional amusement area with rides characterized the event. Schwarzenbach an der Saale thus commemorates one of its oldest cultural traditions in northeastern Upper Franconia.

The 222nd edition in 2025 continued the long tradition. As always, the Sunday parade was the image one expects from an Upper Franconian Wiesenfest: children in school uniforms, traditional costume groups, brass bands, and marksmen marched through the town to the festival grounds, where the town officials welcomed them. The festival tent buzzed with folk festival atmosphere for four days, and the carousels spun in the amusement area.

Schwarzenbach thus keeps one of the oldest Upper Franconian festival traditions alive. The upcoming 223rd edition in 2026 will continue the series and connect generations of Schwarzenbach residents.
