Overview

The Schwäbischwerder Kindertag 2025 was celebrated for the first time as "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Bavaria" — the official recognition had occurred in 2024. Over 800 Donauwörth schoolchildren marched through Reichsstraße in historically appropriate costumes, a beer garden and afternoon of games rounded off the festival weekend.

The 2025 festival weekend was the first to be marked by its recognition as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Bavaria (2024). The festival opening on Friday with a beer garden and live music attracted many visitors to the Promenade; Saturday offered historically inspired hands-on activities for families with the afternoon of games. The highlight, as always, remained the historical play on Sunday morning: with over 800 schoolchildren in historical costumes along the Reichsstraße, Donauwörth showed its most spectacular festive side. The procession was accompanied by fife and drum corps and brass bands, thousands of spectators lined the street. Free admission.

Highlights
