Edition 2025 — Schützenfest Wickede
The 2025 Schützenfest of the St. Johannes Brotherhood once again confirmed its status as the most important folk festival in the Ruhr municipality of Wickede. Bird shooting in Erbkewald, a parade through the town center, and multi-day festival tent operations marked the extended weekend – three days of lived Westphalian marksmen tradition.
The 2025 edition followed the usual dramaturgy: Saturday bird shooting in Erbkewald with the determination of the new royal couple, Sunday grand parade and proclamation of the king, Monday conclusion with king's breakfast and festival evening. The St. Johannes Brotherhood, together with festival caterers and helpers, organized the festival, which enjoys broad support far beyond the club's boundaries.
