Overview

In 2025, the Wewer brotherhood also celebrated its traditional marksmen's festival with an opening dance, king's shoot, parade on Sunday, and marksmen's breakfast on Monday. The approximately 100-year-old tradition attracted many citizens of Paderborn and visitors from the Hochstift region. The royal couple and their retinue were honored, and the marksmen's tradition came alive for four days in the Wewer district.

The 2025 edition followed the proven four-day program of the St.-Johannes- und St.-Hubertus-Schützenbruderschaft Wewer 1910 e.V. Opening on Friday evening with the assembly of flag escorts, king's shoot on Saturday, the highlight was, as always, the grand parade on Sunday afternoon through Wewer.

The marksmen's breakfast on Monday morning with Westphalian specialties – farmer's bread, ham, fried eggs, and Pilsner beer – provided a cozy conclusion. As every year, the marksmen's festival brought together the clubs, the parish community, and the citizens of the Paderborn district.
