Local marksmen's festival on the Pentecost weekend in the village of Sorgensen (Burgdorf) – at Riethornweg
Sorgensen is one of the smaller villages in the town of Burgdorf. Its marksmen's festival, despite – or perhaps because of – its manageable size, is a vibrant example of Lower Saxony's marksmen's culture: a festival ground, a marquee, a dedicated club family, and the entire neighbourhood gathering for the weekend.
The festival grounds at Riethornweg are located in the centre of Sorgensen and offer the infrastructure for the marquee, shooting range, and catering. Parking is available on the adjacent streets.
With the Schützenfest Sorgensen, the district joins the dense network of Burgdorf's marksmen's festivals. In addition to the central Volks- und Schützenfest (people's and marksmen's festival) of the Burgdorf Marksmen's Society of 1593, Otze, Ramlingen, and other villages also celebrate their own festivals – a wealth of living tradition that characterises the town.
The Sorgensen Marksmen's Club will celebrate the 2026 festival in its established format. The exact detailed programme will be published by the club in the spring.
The exact 2026 programme will be published by the organiser in the spring. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
