The 2025 Pentecost Schützenfest in the artists' town of Schwalenberg followed the traditional program: Tannenfahren (fir tree procession) as the traditional kick-off, on Saturday a concert on the market square, a march to the war memorial on Dohlenberg with a wreath-laying ceremony and the Grand Tattoo, on Sunday the grand parade of the 20 Schwalenberg shooting squads — accompanied by the marching band of the Schwalenberg Volunteer Fire Department and the Rischenau Drum Corps. On Whit Monday, the king's proclamation at the Schützenhalle was the social highlight. In the evenings, DJ sets and live bands played in the Schützenhalle. In 2025, the Schützenfest remained what it has been for centuries: the identity-defining event for the people of Schwalenberg and a living piece of Lippe tradition.
