Schützenfest on Pentecost Sunday
Pentecost is the classic time for Schützenfeste in the Wesermarsch. Several clubs host their festival days around the Pentecost weekend – including the Oberhammelwarden Shooting Club in Elsfleth. Royal Court 2026
Even before the festival itself, the club crowned the royal court for 2026 during its King's Ball. The new shooting monarch wears the chain and crown during the festival season and represents the club on numerous occasions. The public festival on Pentecost Sunday is the highlight of the club's year.
Parade and Dance Evening
The festival day begins with the king's shooting, followed by the parade and the king's ceremony. In the evening, there will be dancing, eating, and drinking in the marquee with live music. Getting There
Oberhammelwarden is a district of Elsfleth, the port city at the mouth of the Hunte into the Weser. Travel via the A 29 (exit Oldenburg-Nord) and the B 212 or the L 815. Parking is signposted near the festival grounds.
On Site
The Schützenfest takes place at the Oberhammelwarden Shooting House and in the adjoining marquee. Sturdy footwear is recommended.
Catering
Sausages, fries, schnitzel, coffee, cake, draft beer, and non-alcoholic beverages are offered by the club.
