Edition 2025 — Schützenfest Osterath
2025 was a pause year for the Osterath Schützenfest — the Heimat- und Schützenbund Osterath 1955 e.V. holds its main festival on a two-year cycle; the last one took place in 2024, and the next is announced for 2026. Association activities — shooting competitions, smaller-scale events, 'Tanz in den Mai' — continued unabated in 2025.
During the pause year 2025, the HSB Osterath kept the association traditions alive with smaller events — from traditional shooting competitions to 'Tanz in den Mai'. The organized preparations for the main festival in 2026 already began in autumn 2025 with the election of Paul I. from the Rote Friderizianer shooting club as king. The two-year cycle allows the association to organize the main festival with particular care and effort — featuring elaborate parades, a comprehensive festival tent programme, and a proclamation of the king that shapes the entire association life for two years.
