Edition 2025 — Schützenfest Doberlug
The Schützenfest Doberlug 2025 was celebrated, as is traditional, on the Pentecost weekend at the Schützenplatz on Tiergartenstraße. Three days of folk festival program with a marksmen's parade, king's shooting competition, festive procession, and festive church service — a tradition firmly established in the event calendar.
In 2025, the Schützenfest continued the decades-long Pentecost tradition in Doberlug-Kirchhain. The Schützengilde organized the three-day program together with the city, while exhibitors, showmen, and musicians provided the folk festival atmosphere. The festive church service on Pentecost Sunday, with the unfurling of the marksmen's banners, was once again the spiritual highlight.
Schützenfeste like the one in Doberlug-Kirchhain are important anchors of identity in the Niederlausitz region — they connect club life, city history, and family traditions across generations.
