Overview

The 30th anniversary edition of the schrit_tmacher Festival in 2025 presented a program of international dance companies across the Meuse-Rhine Euregio. With 30 years, schrit_tmacher has become one of the most important dance festivals in the tri-border region of Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium.

The 30th edition in 2025 marked a generational change: the long-standing directorship ended, and Yvonne Eibig was appointed as the new artistic director who will shape the festival from 2026 onwards. The 2025 anniversary program celebrated three decades of schrit_tmacher as a pioneer of the cross-border dance festival and simultaneously showed how contemporary the concept has remained.

Venues in Aachen, Heerlen, Kerkrade, and Eupen invited audiences on a "dance journey" that is unique in Europe in its geographical density. International companies from Asia, Africa, America, and Europe showcased the thematic breadth of contemporary dance.
